Terra watched as Chera, Mala, and Zira walked away, giving her angry stares as they left.  When they were gone, Antony raised his head and said quietly "Thank you.".  Terra turned, and in a flash her spear was at his throat.  He raised his head, trying to keep from being impaled, but Terra kept applying pressure, making sure he could feel the cold stone spear point against his neck...

"Thanks for what?" she asked angrily.  "Didn't you hear what I told them?  I still haven't decided of you'll live through the night."  Her dark eyes flashed with a passion that Antony would otherwise find irresistible, but at the moment he could only fear for his life.  "Your friends have found your bloody armor, just as I knew they would, and have assumed that the Chimera has gotten you, so don't count on them coming to find you.  AND, as far as I'm concerned, you are little more than dead weight.  So don't push your luck."

She nudged his neck with her spear again to let him know how close to death he really was, but as she looked at this animal that she was so close to killing she couldn't help but notice his muscular build, his strong features, and the quiet strength he displayed as he looked death in the eyes....
