I've been pretty busy in RL lately, which seems a bit backward considering all that is going on in the world around us.  There are reasons, so I'll share some of my life.

As many of you know, I'm self employed, operating a small manufacturing facility whose main product line is something that no one ever thinks about but we all use daily in nearly every aspect of life.  As a result, I am considered essential, falling under 'Critical Manufacturing'.  Some industry I serve is down right now while others are up, making up the difference, so as a result I'm able to retain my employees (something I had purposed to do anyway when this shit hit the fan originally).  That means I'm just as busy as I was before in that regard.  Now, consider that the supply lines from China have been inversely affected and we add a new dimension, namely that some of my customers are having trouble getting products that had previously sourced offshore.  Now they're scrambling to meet their own supply demands.  That's where I come in.  In the past when I tried to recapture some of that offshore business I found many times that I could barely purchase material for what the Chinese were charging for the completed parts.  Ugh.  That's changed, a little.  A longtime customer asked me to bid some of their offshore items, and though I was a little higher than what they're paying I have some advantages.  First, I have a favorable history with them.  Second, I am able to source the required raw materials domestically, so I don't have to wait on a slow boat from China.  Third, I'm very local, and any time they need me I'm here.

Now I'm under the gun to get tooled up on new products. 

So if I'm absent, that's why.  I still drop into DA when I can, but I, unfortunately, have a lot less time to play right now.  I have several projects either waiting to continue or waiting to get started.  I'll get to them when things settle down a bit.

Ok, work is waiting again, so I have to go.

A few people knew I would be absent for a couple weeks, and after a short visit to the UK and France, I'm back home now, trying to work through the fog of sleep deprivation (I hate long flights).

It's October, and I hope to make at least a few renders to celebrate the month.

...is going on with the Captor?

Yes, I disappeared for a while.  Yes, I did share with a couple close friends recently some of what was going on, and at that time indicated that I likely wouldn't be back.  If any of you heard that from them, as they were allowed to share, they merely told what they knew, which was truth at that time.  I have since changed that decision...slightly.

Long story, but you're going to get the short version.

A couple months ago two things happened almost simultaneously that affected my time here.  One: I took some time to evaluate my priorities.  Two: I suffered a hard drive failure that cost me a lot of the content I use here.

Concerning the first, it was necessary for me to step away from here to properly assess certain things in my life, and that's all you're getting about that.

Concerning the second, I lost almost all the newer clothing and characters I had on my main computer.  I had backed up my content a couple years ago, so there's that.  I had also taken a few select scenes and put them on another computer, so from those I was able to salvage a few of the newer characters as well as the basic geometry for some others.  Lori, of course, is alive and well.  As for the others, I may use them at some time, and actually plan to upload one here shortly.

This leads me to the next part: What will I be doing in the future, if anything?  My presence here will be greatly reduce from what it was in the past.  I'm healthy, life is good, and keeping things that way is why I'm making this change.  I won't be making stories for people, or including other deviants in my stories from here onward.  The reason for that is twofold: I have lost almost all the characters I had made for people, and the effort to make art that fits the individual is more work than I want, or need, to apply to art.  Having said that, there will be exceptions on a limited basis, and the reasons behind the thought process are mine alone.  I'm not angry with anyone, and I haven't developed a dislike for the community at large.  I'm merely simplifying what has in the past been a huge piece of me.

Sadly, my core has expired, and as I don't plan to make any commission art I have no way to renew, as I have traditionally worked for points and used them for membership, as well as to give memberships to others.  With that in mind, I'll be keeping the donation pool alive on my profile. 

Yes, I missed the interaction with some very good friends here, so I'm here, in and out, on a limited basis.

...I open up DeviantArt to find 18 correspondence items.  It seems someone believes some of my art has underage characters, while other may contain explicit content.

It was only a matter of time.

In response, depending on what eventually happens with these pieces of art, my presence here may only be a matter of time as well.

Yes, I'm kinda pissed.  No, I'm not whining.  I'm merely setting into motion the course of action I determined beforehand in the event that DeviantArt decides my art doesn't belong on a site filled with photographs of the genitalia of women much younger than I portray with my digital girls.

Here's what will happen:  I'm not going to edit, or even review, the art that was flagged, or whatever caused the correspondence to show up, as I'm just as comfortable with my art and how I applied the content filters now as I was then.  If those pieces of art, or any other in my gallery, are removed by DeviantArt staff, I'm outta here when my Core membership expires.  At this point I'm not planning to pick up my marbles and find another game.  I've been happy with DeviantArt and the community here, and am quite positive I won't find anything else like it.  This is just an outlet, a diversion, and isn't a major part of my life.  So, yeah, I'll miss the interaction, but it won't destroy be to not have it.

I'll keep everyone posted if anything else happens.  My Core expires April 18, 2019.  It will be a shame if I have to leave just 30 days shy of my ten-year anniversary here.  Oh well, it's been fun.
